My best part about HPHS is definitely the school spirit. The worst part is probably the maybe the way a good amount of students aren't very motivated to succeed. Change I would like to see is the staff and teachers connect with the kids more in order to get them interested in learning and to apply effort.

The best part about my experience at my school is being very involved. My school offers many different clubs, sports, and classes that allow for you to figure out what your career pathway or interest is in general. Like many schools we could do better but one thing that I hope can change is since I am female in a very feminine based sport there is a huge difference between the support that we get compared to male sports, I hope my school can do better on being equal between the priority certain sports get.

Huntington Park High School is a school majority consisting of 95% Latinos. The best parts of our school is the ability for students to create their own clubs. It is encouraged and has happened a lot during the 4 years I've attended. Even I have helped create a club at my school and enjoy the opportunity my school has given me. Some of the worst parts of this school is the non-stop construction and the lack of help in regards to college. Our school doesn't start helping and advising student on what they should be doing to be on track for college starting freshman year which I think is something they should change. As a senior applying to colleges I am constantly learning about the entire application process and financial aid. Had I been taught prior I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed and confused with all this information thrown at me. As many student inputting their grades and extracurricular I wish I did better or participated more. My school should make it mandatory to join a club.

I would rate this school a 4 because last year they integrated a STEM Magnet program which has a very good rating. This program engages students in success and achieving new things. I am very glad to have this program in this school in Huntington Park.

I am a former student attending at Huntington Park High School, HPHS for short, and I believe this school is gruesome. I'm in honors/AP and I still feel it isnt as challenging. Kids in there shouldn't even belong in there. The teachers teach horribly. I don't blame them. The school was too lazy or "...

It wasn't a bad school. I graduated in 2008. I can honestly say that most of the teachers I had, cared for the students and wanted them to succeed. Even though they say the school was overcrowded, I don't believe that's a valid excise for the lack of effort most students give. If one can succeed, mo...
