The school has a safety policy in place which is required by the school district. A district stance against bullying allows the staff to take action quickly when it occurs. Security and safety is a hallmark of the district and of the campus leader. The school has a full time RN to bolster the health program of the school.

The administrative team consisting of the principal, the assistant principal, and the counselor are always open and willing to help.

W.A. Porter is the best we could hope for. It is such a strong knit community. The teachers and staff are very involved, welcoming, inclusive and treat parents and students with respect. It’s clear they CARE about their students.

We absolutely love Porter. This is our 4th year and I can’t say enough good things about this school. Every staff member, including teachers, custodians, and office personnel truly care about the students. The school feels like an extension of our family, and I am truly excited to send my 2nd child...

Our children attended WA Porter through BISD Open Enrollment. I cannot say enough about how special this school is to our family. Both of my children went to Porter from kindergarten all the way through 5th grade and loved every minute of it. One is a boy and the other is a girl and they were both very prepared for middle school!
