Boyd Elementary is a public school in the Fondren North Neighborhood. A part of the Jackson Public School District, the Home of the Bobcats has a student population on the smaller side as there are around 450 students in the kindergarten to fifth grade classes offered by the school. The 29 classroom teachers and one full-time counselor are dedicated in supporting the scholars at Boyd Elementary. More than 60% of the teachers have over three years of teaching experience, and they work hard to make sure that the learning experience is also filled with fun. They organize science fairs, school art camps, beauty pageants and countless other exciting events in which young learners are encouraged to participate. They do all this in addition to regular classes, helping their students to thrive not just academically but also socially. For intellectually gifted students, the Open Doors Gifted Education Program is organized specially to train them in social and emotional skills, thinking and creativity, communication skills and more. The Broadmeadow United Methodist Church, Fondren Renaissance Association and the Fresh Start Christian Church have adopted the school, providing services, activities and necessary support to the school and the scholars. The school library has materials in print and electronic formats to engage in literacy, research and writing activities.

Lady, that's every school in JPS. Boyd is no different than any others. Matter of fact, better. Your child could be at Barr where there absolutely no organization or leadership and the administrator, who has NO experience, got her job because her husband is a high level administrator in the district...
