Julia Landon College Preparatory and Leadership Development School is a public magnet school serving middle school students in the San Marco area. The school is committed to preparing students for a college education while inspiring community service and offering an athletics program with successful basketball, football, golf and soccer teams. Landon students rate highly on standardized testing, and the school’s programs are designed for gifted and talented pupils. In addition to its core curriculum, the school has a wide range of electives, including digital art, journalism, band and Spanish. For a monthly fee, students may attend the Julia Landon Community Education Program, an after-school program that provides tutoring, homework assistance and leadership activities. The school's name honors Julia Landon, who taught at Southside Jacksonville’s first one-room grammar school. Landon has an enrollment of more than 800 students, and student admission is by application through the Duval County Office of School Choice.

I am former student at the school. I went there from 6 to 8 grade the teachers were very nice and made everything easy to learn and understand. The school is very diverse. And the teachers there make it a point to learn about each and every student to help better them in their learning career.

This school was very none diverse and the kids don't care to actually do work and the parents don't support there children and the test scores have dramatically dropped

I don’t like it here. Teachers disregard students feeling and push them too hard, I get it’s a leadership school but really it shouldn’t be this hard to the point a whole class does not want to go to school to deal with these teachers. This school was horrible. The teachers were nice, but failed to understand me and my learning differences. There are also some kids that are overly obnoxious, stating in our 8th grade year that they were going to Stanton, which is a good school, but thought they were automatically the smartest kids...
