Southwest is filled with school spirit and fun. However the academics are like all other schools being just around average. I believe that southwest is a pretty good school overall when it comes to choosing a school in Onslow county.

A very good overall school, offers a few AP classes and has pretty good sports teams. Our football team is back to back conference champs.

The school feels careless and unprofessional, often ignoring problems instead of addressing them. They even allowed a student to break the rules by painting offensive messaging in a parking space, and despite claiming it would be removed, it’s still there. Few teachers are passionate and most staff, if not all, have strong favoritism. They allow kids to slack off and barely pass. Only a handful of staff treat everyone equally.
