Timber Ridge Elementary School was first built in 2007 and has grown into a reputable institution with a high expectation for learning and state-of-the-art learning equipment. The school building was built with the intention of creating natural lighting in every room, saving energy but also creating a warm and welcoming feeling in every classroom. Timber Ridge Elementary School offers computer labs, art studios, music rooms, large gyms and other amenities to make learning comfortable and fun.
Preschool through fifth grade is taught standard at Timber Elementary School, including the Developmental Kindergarten program, which is the only program of its kind in Johnston. There are currently over 600 students enrolled at Timber Ridge Elementary School and around 60 teachers as well as additional faculty and staff.

Timber Ridge is a wonderful school with excellent academic programming, staff, and students. We are fortunate to be able to send our daughter (and soon our son) to such a wonderful school.

Class size seems to large for some teachers. Many teachers are not proactive in reaching out to different kids' learning styles. This school's focus is on Iowa Basic Skills testing.
