Johnstown is a small town school that has allowed a great environment for our daughter to grow up in. There is big change on the horizon with Intel building their new plant very close to our town. I believe this will bring many more resources and opportunities for the children of Johnstown. So I would like to see more resources but I believe this is coming with the huge growth expected in this community over the next 10 years.

Pros: Most teachers and staff in the school are very nice, are good at their job and have a passion for teaching. Modern building and cafeteria food. Lots of student activities, like sports, choir, band, and more. Cons: Dress code for a public school is too strict, and is obviously more enforced against girls than boys. The school building is very bland, and shows little proof of student involvement in the school environment.

My experience in Johnstown has been really my only school experience, other than long ago when I was in Virginia for 2nd grade. Johnstown has given me the chance to grow as a person by letting me live out my love for band through its marching band and concert band, both of which are filled with multiple talented people. While sometimes it was a struggle to get where I wanted, I was able to excel and get to the top 25% of my class with a 4.0 GPA. Through band and other sports, I was able to make plenty of amazing friends and meet loads of new people to interact with and expand my view before I get into college.

JOHNSTOWN schools are a nightmare. I feel they just push kids thru and the are not truly educating the kids who need help. Bullying in this school system is out of hand. My children have attended each school in the district. I'm not sure how they received a rating of 7/10. The staff is rude, bullying is not addressed, and that includes teachers who bully students. Horrible schools. They say they want parents to be involved but only if the parent agrees with them. If...
