I really like this school. I just wish some kids would mind their own business and as well as of teachers and administration. The best people are my 3 close friends and maybe the lunch ladies. <3 Chow (:

Hardin Valley Academy had a lot of administrative turnover during my 4 years at the school. They also changed from block scheduling to A/B scheduling right before my freshman year and then changed back to block scheduling my senior year. They do offer an Early College Experience track for Juniors and Seniors in conjunction with Pellissippi State Community College which allowed me to take general credit college classes while stil in high school. There was also a lot of turnover in the athletic department while I was there too. Its difficult to build strong athletic programs when the coaches change every couple of years.

I have had an overall good experience with Hardin Valley Academy. In my time enrolled at HVA, the teachers have done a good job preparing me for the next classes I will be taking and for life. At HVA, sports is a huge part of student life and the part that I am most familiar with, but the atmosphere at all sporting events is electric with the students being heavily involved. We have had some negative incidents in the past, but that was with a different administration, and the new principal is doing a great job in my opinion of making sure the students are safe and feel welcome at HVA.

I went to Hardin Valley a few years back and it was a great experience but it has gone downhill. With the new principal and staff my siblings have faced discrimination. Recently I went to the school and encountered a rude office staff. I wasn’t aware one couldn’t bring drinks from the outside and sh...

Overall the education seems decent. But over the last three years, the rest has gone downhill. What used to be a nice campus is now full of litter every single day. If your child is a car rider, you will find that the parents cannot follow the very simple pick up procedure without taking up two lane...

Student section during athletic events have a mob like mentality. Racial and personal statements being shouted out non stop! Administration does nothing about and it’s been going on and reported for years. I would not recommend this school for lack of character.

The way this school handles sensitive issues is beyond inappropriate. The students appear to be drones with no active thinking for themselves. The principal is the worst, he is rude, callous, and pretentious. He feigns care and is overall haughty. I pulled my child from this school with no intention...
