La Cueva High School is okay, but there's definitely room for improvement. It has a solid reputation, and academically, it offers some strong programs, but like any school, it has its flaws. The Good - The school has a competitive academic environment, which can be great for students who want to push themselves. - Some teachers are genuinely passionate about what they do and care about their students' success. - The extracurriculars and sports programs are pretty solid, giving students opportunities to get involved. The Not-So-Great - The school culture can feel a little cliquey at times, making it hard for some students to fit in. - Administration and policies can feel outdated or overly strict in certain areas. - Some teachers don't seem as engaged, making certain classes feel like a waste of time. - There's a lot of focus on test scores and college admissions, which can sometimes make it feel like the actual learning part is secondary.

La Cueva makes sure you review your college and career path options throughout high school, but admin communication could be improved.

Overall, the quality of education I received at this school adequately prepared me for college. Although I had a number of teachers who exceeded expectations, the curriculum for many of my classes seemed outdated and unhelpful. I would like to see more relevant information added to curricula, especially those of core classes like English and biology.

I am a former employee at the school. The school does not address discrimination, bullying, or harassment in a manner that corrects behavior. Bullies return to classes where the infractions took place. This is a MAGA district & is NOT a safe/supportive place for LGBTQ students. Gun threats on campus...

Most of the classrooms have no windows, and it seems like there are much more students than the building was designed to support. When I was a student, there would still be people waiting in the cafeteria line by the end of the lunch period, so they wouldn't be able to eat. There is not enough room...
