The school can be great but it's administration that makes it or breaks it. They fail to take responsibility and this year police presence is higher than usual. I would like to see accountability , inclusion, and special education be part of the culture.

The teachers are knowledgeable and passionate. Thurston follows California State standards and Common Core. There is a fair amount of workload.

Laguna Beach school district provides quality support to its teaching staff. The district support allows teachers to perform at a high level of educating their students. I have had a good experience at Thurston, they have very good teachers, a great principal, and good extracurricular activities. Mrs. Martinez is such an amazing teacher and you won't regret attending this school.
