While we loved many things about the Montessori philosophy and the new, well maintained classrooms, here were our dealbreakers. 1) High staff turnover and an unclear staffing policy. We never felt we knew who was interacting with our child during the day. 2) Overcrowded classrooms. Kids with disruptive behavior (outside the expected mainstream) dominated the experience of the class, with a lack of appropriate support and/or response from the school. 3) Parental involvement was only welcome as an accessory to the Philosophy, which was held up above the needs of individual children.

At Montessori I learned absolutely nothing. I was in the AE (highest classroom, 7 & 8)and they cared more about me selling eggs in the freezing cold at 7 am, then teaching me science. Teachers strict, mean, and not pleasant. They mix the older kids with the younger kids, so the older kids would sometimes be a bad example for the younger kids. Barely any learning, and kids were swearing.
