First Street Elementary School— home of the Roadrunners— is a public educational institution in Lincoln, California. It has served some of the brightest minds in the city for over 22 years, and offers enrollment from kindergarten through fifth grades.
Currently, there are 500 students attending First Street Elementary School, and 56 staff members supporting pupils’ success. On-site resources include English Language Development for those learning English, and a bilingual immersion program for students wishing to receive simultaneous lessons in English and Spanish. First Street Elementary also offers GATE, or Gifted and Talented Education, an accelerated and challenging curriculum for high-achieving learners. Additionally, the school offers enrichment activities for students to partake in before or after school. These include Firefly Art, Early Engineers, soccer, choir, and leadership. Fourth and fifth graders can also opt into band.
First Street Elementary hosts many events throughout the month. Ms. Reynolds, the school principal, offers monthly coffee chats—one in Spanish and one in English. This is a time for parents to learn more about school happenings and receive guidance on how to support their children’s education at home. There are also monthly Parent Teacher Club (PTC) meetings, which bring parents together to coordinate school-wide events and fund incentive programs.
