It is an absolute amazing school. There is a no phone policy allowing the students to stay focused on the teacher and their work. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure their students are very successful in their schoolwork and get them ready for the real world. The atmosphere is great and the staff really cares about each and every student as an individual. I have been attending almost my entire high school career and the superintendent is so kind and helpful. He is willing to do what ever he needs to do in order to ensure the students can learn in a safe environment. A year ago we had a student who lost not only his house but his grandmother and almost his grandfather in a horrific fire. Our superintendent set up a donation box so that anyone who wanted to donate money or clothes to the young man could. East Texas Charter will welcome everyone with open arms. They make sure no one is left behind. I can honestly say that I don't want anything to change.

There is nothing negative I have to say about Charter. Everyone is so caring and teachers want to help. Would only change how the school communicates grades.

A school unlike any other. Students clean the building. Zero tolerance on bullying. There are no detentions. If your can't obey the rules, you are kicked out. BUT, it is FULL of love, compassion, understanding and honor. The way EVERY high school in this country should be run.
