It's an average middle school full of kids of varying backgrounds. A kid who's parents are involved will be successful. Kids without that, will have a tough time - and you can't blame the school for that.

San Pedro, CA parents and students have no other Public Los Angeles middle School to attend. it is the ONLY school available for students out of 5th grades to attend.There are no other schools to compare against Richard Henry Dana Middle School for an education in a Middle School. Dana has an AMAZING principal and dedicated teachers. Everyone is so caring. Even the office staff is friendly welcoming. They have over 1,600 students and the administrators know my children's names! I am so glad they go to Dana!
