Every parent I talk to agrees - this is a school with (mostly) good teachers and NOTHING ELSE. College prep? Forget it. Laughable. Pathetic. Public schools do more let alone private schools. Your kid wants to do AP classes on her own? Forget it Your kid wants to do something after school? Forget it. There's nothing. Your kid wants to talk to someone in the administration? Forget it. They have to write an email to get an appointment and then get turned down with a form letter. No one can tell where the money is going. It's sure not going into horrible facilities worse than a 3rd rate public school. It's sure not going into any student activities. There's like...nothing. And the admin is so agenda driven - so fixated that they have everything right that they sacrifice students ability to get into colleges they want because APs aren't fair to students elsewhere who can't take them. Hello? So we sacrifice our children's future on their social engineering agenda.

Geffen Academy is a very high academic level and rigor academy that prepares students for higher education after high school.

Geffen Academy is unique and innovative. However, it often tries to be too different from other schools. Additionally, because it is such a new school, it stills has some things that it needs to work through and fix. The educators are committed to their work and students. Many of the educators are phd professors that have a great deal of knowledge and experience.
