Established in 1926, Glenfeliz Boulevard Elementary is a public school in the Los Angeles Unified School District serving transitional kindergarten through sixth grade. Located at 3955 Glenfeliz Boulevard, the school’s mission is to create a community of lifelong learners through academic excellence and an understanding of the principles of gardening to creatively solve environmental issues on a regional and global level. With a student population of approximately 223 students, Glenfeliz Boulevard proudly features a School for Advanced Studies (SAS) program in Farm to Table and Culinary Arts. This is the only school in the Los Angeles Unified School District to offer such a unique curriculum where students study core classes in science, math, social studies, art and language arts through the avenues of gardening and culinary arts. Glenfeliz Boulevard is the district’s model school for this unique research-based curriculum, which exists alongside the traditional model of learning and is designed for gifted learners on a first come, first serve basis. Glenfeliz Boulevard also features Garden Rangers, which incorporates academics and gives students the chance to learn how to utilize gardening to solve global problems such as hunger and environmental issues. The Glenfeliz Garden offers all students hands-on outdoor experience supplementing the classroom curriculum.
