GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The school was good. There are lots of things to get involved in. The facility has been renovated recently, but there are some logistical issues with getting from class to class sometimes. I often had to run from one to the next to make it on time.

Lowndes County schools in general have been a great school system for our child and for us as parents. Lowndes high school is large with a large student body, for the most part it is a good school but like all schools it has it's good and bad

I loved my high school experience. I will say my best years was 9th grade and 10th. 11th-12th was just more hectic. I was a varsity cheerleader for 3 years and that definitely made the expiernce ten times better. I loved the school and faculty. Mrs.Mccall was the best principle I've had in years. All of my teachers have kept up with me even my coach. I can definitely say they do truly love their students and we are all family forever. It's true when they say once a viking always a viking. Even with being a college freshman at the moment there is still a part of me who misses and would redo highs school in a heart beat. The only down side of the school was it was very crowded. We had more students than I thought Valdosta had. But on the other hand it did create opportunity to meet and find friends of a life time.

Lots of favoritism and politics in the school. If your child is one of the big Valdosta families, you are guaranteed a spot in any club or sports team. The staff is disconnected from the kids and shows little interest in teaching/ coaching young athletes.

Horrid school. The flag incident, Kendrick Johnson, overall censorship of actually important things. There is no GSA or help for lgbtq+ students, I mean the solution for a hate crime at this school was to just ban flags. There was no discussion on how harmful stereotypes of lgbtq+ students can resul...

This school is absolutely horrible. If you are not a member of an influential family or a notable alumni, you will not be heard. You are not cared for. The kids with prominent families run rampant around the school, vaping/smoking on school grounds and even in class, bully other students, and disres...
