GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It is a very small school with limited programs and resources, but I do the best I can to give myself experiences and exposure within the community and beyond. It hasn't been a great experience because I do not feel challenged, and I have experienced bullying, but I have been able to excell in certain things because I am able to showcase my work ethic.

Madelia High School is a good school overall. One of the best things about my school is the small class sizes so there are many opportunities to ask questions and learn more about a certain topic. We also have amazing teachers who care and are always trying to keep you on the right track. Unfortunately some electives that many people would enjoy are unavailable. Becuase of that there are not as many opportunities for learning or finding yourself.

The building is definitely outdated. There are yellow tile on the walls and some hallways have different colored floors. Our staff and administrators are excellent, despite the physical appearance of the school. They stay after school is over, offer tutoring sessions, help with applications, give recommendations. Someone is always around to help with something.
