When sixth and eighth-grade students walk through the doors of Georgia O'Keeffe Middle School, named after the renowned artist, they can expect to feel positivity, pride and welcoming learning experiences.
Serving a diverse community of learners, staff members at O'Keeffe Middle School are focused on relationship building, communication and collaboration. As part of the school’s robust Academic and Career Planning Process, students are encouraged to think about their unique experiences to connect to who and what they want to be in life. Enrichment programs like art, technology, world language and music help students tap into their creative side to assist them in their transition from childhood to adulthood.
Students utilize an electronic portfolio to store projects. At the end of eighth grade, students complete a portfolio presentation and share key items to tell their stories of growth, readiness and next steps in their educational journey. I liked the amount of extracurriculars there were. I was in a computer club for a while and also a club that was kind of just a fun experiment club. We made a Rube Goldberg machine in there and it was fun. I disliked how the staff managed bullying issues. I was bullied a lot over my one year of attending to the level where I had to leave the school. A school as well-reviewed and promoted as a "safe environment for all students" should be able to properly punish students for the severity of bullying I experienced yet the group of individuals barely received any real repercussions meaning I was often subjected to recurring issues.

When i come to events I do not feel welcome. My kids are failing at this school. Worst school ever and they dont care about kids safety.

My child attended O’Keefe for 1 year and the school was below average in regards to education. The staff overall was nice but they are teaching at least 1, possibly 2 years, below grade level. I’m addition there is no real extracurricular activities regardless of how they might try to spin it.
