GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Great opportunities with dual enroll credits and opportunities to take on-campus classes at the University of Connecticut because of the walking proximity

The academic freedom between many electives, AP, and ECE courses available makes building a future path significantly easier. Additionally there is opportunities to take on-campus UCONN courses. Academic opportunity is the #1 best factor about E. O. Smith. Between that and outstanding teachers, students are without a doubt better prepared for a college environment.

Positive faculty.School needs more vocational courses for less academical students.School sees itself as a college prep facility rather than a comprehensive high school

The only good thing about E.O. is the plethora of ECE courses made available to students. Other than that, not much else seems to work. While the ECE courses may help students get a headstart on college, the guidance department is completely useless and doesn't help seniors with the application proc...

This school has a whole lot of things going for it. It's a pity that they are not more responsive to students with some type of special needs. My son is a senior this year and has been dealing with being on the spectrum his whole life. The school has been non-communicative with us, and when his grad...

Great school but could use some work when it comes to students who need some help keeping up... I was a student there class of 2009 and I needed help but did not get it so my grades dropped dramatically
