Smitha Middle School
Serving a student body of almost 1,000 students, Smitha Middle School is named after William Oliver Smitha, a longtime Georgia educator who served on the Cobb County Board of Education.
Located right off Powder Springs Road Southwest, this sixth to eighth grade public school is part of the Cobb County School District.
Smitha Middle School offers advanced courses in language arts, reading, science, social studies and math, as well as English Speakers for Other Languages classes.
Smitha Middle School also has a partnership with MUST Ministries Neighborhood Pantry.
Home of the Cardinals, the school has a student-run and student-produced newspaper and a library center with media, research and technology resources. Tutoring options, after-school care programs and school counselors are also available.
Students can join in extracurricular activities such as band, chorus, orchestra, drama and yearbook club. Sixth grade students can also enroll in music classes.

I loved it here. Honestly, I met most of my lifetime friends here rather than in high school. Everyone got along for the most part. The teachers were all memorable and actually cared about their students.

Some teachers taught too fast and we didn't really learn anything but still had fun in there. Some kids claimed the teachers weren't teaching and was just complaining all day long about the class.

I like going to the school it’s nice the teachers are kind. They don’t give us a lot of homework it’s only if you don’t finish something in class.
