The teachers genuinely care about the students, they are amazing at helping kids with learning differences, they listen to what changes students want, there are clubs like green team and student leadership that let us organize spirit weeks and beach clean ups, and the classes are small enough that you are friends with almost everyone.

Tolerance, inclusion, empathy -- all hallmarks. If you bully, you don't fit in. If you have an issue with a fellow student, it's taken fairly seriously and an open discussion is pursued, parental support brought in as necessary. The only think I'd like to see improve is access to the school counselor being more readily available to the younger student body. She meets weekly with the middle school students, but I'd like for the K-5 to know such support is there as well.

An excellent school and progressive education. Collaborative and multidisciplinary throughout and in the toddler/preschool/early elementary years it is Montessori inspired, and through 8th grade it is hands-on and very nurturing throughout. Our son entered Marin Horizon as a Kindergarten student and immediately felt at home. Now, as a Second grader, he loves school and every day comes home with a smile. It is a nurturing environment that combines fun with learning. Marin Horizon truly is a second home.
