When I was in mears I'm now a freshmen but I have a few things to say. First off my teacher's were nice but the rules were not. we were not aloud to wear hats, hoods and masks. We also weren't aloud to wear side bags or carry backpacks around the school, that means we had to carry Chromebooks that are expensive and valuable. A few kids even broke their Chromebook. Secondly I really for some reason disliked the security guard's most Bart. He would always ask me about my headphones because to no one's surprise we went aloud to use phones in hallways along with headphones/earbuds. So he kept talking about my headphones which are apart of my IEP. I showed him my IEP papers and when he said "What is this? why are you showing me this?" it showed my IEP verification. Thirdly I wore a pride flag to school and when I did people called me"gay freak" they tired to pull it off of my back. then I got bullied for around half of the school year, but I knew that I would. I also have many panic attacks

There really isn't anything. There are generic sports but no arts programs. No theatre or debate which are widespread in the city.

Teachers don't care about racist or homophobic bullying, boys will straight up threaten or talk about raping people and they do not care. No kids want to learn or take interest in it.

Administration is unresponsive to racist bullying in the school. No wonder some parents are choosing to homeschooling and schools are closing. Laissez faire is no way to run a school.

Not enough support and engagement for students and parents. Teachers and staff are overwhelmed. My children did really well in school until they transitioned to Mears. There is no bus service in parts of Southport and Bayshore. While the distance is short, the snow, unplowed sidewalks, and darkness...
