White Station Middle School is in East Memphis, within the White Station and Shady Grove communities. It’s a public school that’s part of Memphis Shelby County Schools, serving students from sixth to eighth grade. For the 2021-2022 academic year, there were about 1,200 students enrolled, averaging 19 students per classroom.
White Station Middle School is home of the Spartans and has a strong academic foundation to prepare students for life beyond school.
Students can break the traditional learning mold and take up several courses that may not be offered at other schools. They will find opportunities to learn key skills that can benefit them now, or at any age in life, such as American Sign Language. They can also join other clubs and organizations to boost social skills and critical thinking skills, such as the MathCounts team, chess club, National Junior Honor Society, Science Olympiad and Wordsmith. Spartans can show school spirit through a variety of sports teams — including baseball, basketball, football, soccer, cheer team, volleyball, tennis and track. Parents who need flexibility with dropping off and picking up their child to and from school, can sign up for Before and After Care, known as YCare, a partnership with the YMCA.
