The Jose Martin School I is a private prekindergarten through third-grade school located in Miami, Florida. It has a population of approximately 80 students and a student-teacher ratio of 11-to-1. The school’s learning programs are designed to develop students’ cognitive and language skills, physical skills, literacy skills and creativity while also creating a positive learning environment that makes students feel safe.
The school utilizes age-appropriate activities that help students grow as individuals while also teaching students core subjects that they will need to be promoted to the following grades. The Preschool program implements The Creative Curriculum. This curriculum focuses on four main areas: social/emotional, physical cognitive and language. This framework includes fine motor skills, math readiness, music objectives, integrated computer technologies, and many other skills.
The kindergarten through third-grade program implements an individualized curriculum that covers the required content areas that include English language arts, Spanish, fine arts, health education, P.E., science, social studies and math. Teachers create lesson plans that fit their students and allow them to demonstrate mastery throughout the school year.
