Founded in 1948 and within a stone’s throw of a citrus farm, Monte Vista Elementary School is a landmark in the Arcadia and Camelback East Village areas. Having gone through several renovations and upgrades over the decades, Monte Vista continues to serve students in kindergarten through eighth grade as part of the Creighton School District. The school teaches children within a house system. Each year, students can earn or lose points for their respective houses, leading up to the annual winner of the House Cup. This house system promotes a sense of belonging and community not found in many schools. Monte Vista also supports complete arts integration within their curriculum and is committed to providing opportunities for students to engage with one another and creatively thrive. This integration allows children to explore improv and acting, drawing and graphic design, or a number of musical and theatrical arts. The school has also partnered with the Phoenix Symphony to bring world-class musicians to co-teach lessons and local universities to plan field trips revolving around cultural experiences. Monte Vista offers different athletic programs to encourage students and give them a sense of team spirit.

My son has really enjoyed his time at Monte Vista. He has great teachers and good friends. He enjoys the atmosphere provided through the House system and the Arts Integration approach in his classes. His teachers have always communicated well and shown genuine care for him.
