I've been at Skyview for 4 years. every year rampant policy changes wreak havoc on every facet of our school. Nampa school district itself, has not one sentiment of understanding for its students or teachers. they cut funding, close schools, close activities, and provide us with more reason to be discouraged than to be excited. three times the grading system has switched in my time at Skyview. from standards to letter back to standards and back to letter. grading policies are ridiculously lax. teachers are forced to give no less than half credit for an assignment in fear of losing their jobs. Idaho has ranked consistently in the bottom 5 states for education for years now. Nampa school district is a predominant reason why. I find it harder and harder to wake up and convince myself it's worth it to go to school. I've stopped caring. I used to have perfect attendance and perfect grades. now they have fallen farther than I would have believed four years ago. I blame our education system.

I have grown up at Skyview. It feels like a safe place for more with all the memories it harbors. The teachers and all the staff are so incredible. The sports are so competitive yet fun at the same time. I feel as though Skyview provides its students with amazing resources for everyone in all aspects. The college and career center provides all students a very helpful source of information and provides college field trips to explore local colleges and what they have to provide. Skyview is a great academic school as well. The school provides after-school help labs as well as student provided tutoring. We also have a 40 minutes class period 4 days a week that we refer to as "mentoring". I find this very helpful because it allows all students to have access to any and all teachers if we need assistance and it also acts as a great opportunity to work on homework or projects during the school day. This has proven to be very helpful for me because I get the chance to ask my peers for help.

Skyview is a very unique place where the hallways are filled with school spirit, and the academics are unmatched. Skyview offers a wide variety of college courses as well as dual enrollment opportunities that allow students to really excel. Although the school is not big, and doesn't have a very large population, the school really shows the community aspect of life.

The school administration needs to do a better job preventing bullying and creating a more nurturing and challenging environment for students. I believe Skyview High School in Nampa Idaho, out of the three high school's in Nampa, it is one of the best. I know lots of people impressed with this school, such as students, parents, and teachers. I reccomend this school for students.
