The Cockrill Elementary community operates with the belief that when students have a superior educational foundation, they’ll find success that will last throughout their lives.
This public school is located in the heart of The Nations neighborhood. Serving children from prekindergarten through fifth grade, Cockrill Elementary students, faculty and staff work hard each day to live out their school’s motto of success.
The student body at Cockrill can become well-rounded through various clubs and leadership opportunities like Student Ambassadors and the Leadership Team. Through the school’s partnership with the Country Music Hall of Fame, they also have the unique opportunity to learn the art of songwriting.
The school’s mission is to help students reach their full potential through positive encouragement, guidance and support. Cockrill Elementary has a dedicated staff that puts students at the center of everything they do. Students can benefit from the personalized attention they receive with a low student-teacher ratio. This support is in partnership with parents and generous organizations in the community to help Cockrill students become lifelong learners. The school also participates in Project for Neighborhood Aftercare programs, along with the Boys and Girls Club and other community groups for after-school care.

I have been at Cockrill for 15 years. The teachers and staff are very loving and caring. Mrs. Cochrane and Dr Fuqua are Awesome. Cockrill is a GREAT school for children.

Cockrill is the new up and coming neighborhood school! It is a Project Based Learning model school for the district. Students work towards the behavior bashes! If you send your child to this school you will be extremely satisfied!
