Hume-Fogg has challenged me like never before with its heavy workload and competitive atmosphere. However, the teachers never failed to reach out and help every individual student with personal, academic, and matters completely unrelated to school.

I have thoroughly loved my time here at Hume-Fogg High School. It has truly changed me as a person and I would not be the same person I am today without my time there. I was an active member of the Hume-Fogg Theatre Department, which I believe is one of the best in the city. I spent all four years doing eight shows at Hume-Fogg and I made so many friendships that would last throughout the rest of my life. I would like there to be a bit more freedom for students. I know that the teachers main job is to keep track of us and keep us safe, but there comes of point of when it seems a bit overbearing. We used to have to put our phones in zip pouches during class and we have to bring a bathroom pass every time we leave the room. I know that these are fair rules to have, but sometimes I don't really love them.

I've had a very good experience at Hume-Fogg. From the teachers, to my classmates, the countless field trips, and the numerous sports events, my experience at this school was great. Overall, I feel like there weren't any lows, but there were numerous highs.

I'm curious about the lack of reviews posted to the Great School page. Hume Fogg High School is one of the oldest high schools in Nashville. and one of the most promoted public schools in the state. It's odd to only have 4 reviews available.

As a student who transferred in the middle of their senior year, I did not fit in and felt very uncomfortable. Most of the teachers were accommodating and supportive, but there were still a few that did not know how to handle the situation who should have. This is the same reaction you would find at...

My experience exceeds expectations in academics, athletics, and preparation for national colleges and universities.

HFA taught me critical thinking skills and the core writing and analytical tools to support later academic and professional work. More importantly, it provided a uniquely diverse high school environment which formed the much more nuanced skill of charitable reading - of texts and of others. Though 1...
