I think the hands on aspect was good and possibly the best part of the school. The bad part of the school was that if you wanted to play a sport that isnt rowing or sailing you had to go to the local sending school and play as part of their team.

I have been apart of the Sound School community for four years. The people here are so nice and the teachers are very helpful. The school is right on the Long Island Sound and we participate in many on the water activities like sailing or rowing.

Bless this school and everything in it. After having a very tumultuous time within the public school district, coming here was one of the best decisions of my life. The "sink or swim" ideology of the place may be off putting to some, but It gave me a chance to spread my wings and grow as a person. A few tough teachers here and there, but It was a grand experience. I made lifelong friends, learned about aquaculture in a hands on environment, and overall enjoyed my time there. It really helped me break out of my shell, so to speak.
