Found in the Old Aurora neighborhood of New Orleans, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Charter School is part of the InspireNOLA charter network, which focuses on whole-student education and a structured academic framework in its eight schools. The school joined the charter network in 2018 and reported a test score improvement after a year, according to the InspireNola website.
In 2019, the Louisiana Department of Education honored Eisenhower Charter as one of its Outstanding Schools in Greater New Orleans as well as one of its most improved elementary institutions in the parish. An in-demand open-enrollment school, Eisenhower Charter takes 25% of their students from one-half mile around the school and another 25% from surrounding ZIP codes.
Serving pre-K through eighth grade, the school is located at 3700 Tall Pines Drive and had a recent enrollment of about 700 students. The school provides transportation to and from campus and has an after-care program. To encourage physical health and teamwork, it offers club sports such as volleyball, track and field, soccer, and football. According to a February 2022 interview with Dwight D. Eisenhower principal Dr. Rulonda Green, she’s passionate about inspiring students to follow her guidelines: growth, perseverance, and attainment. Her philosophy compliments those of InspireNOLA and Eisenhower Charter perfectly, as each puts trust in the student to achieve the goal of becoming a responsible citizen in a changing world.

This school sucks. The dress code alone is more important than academics. These elementary students carry around 4-5 books everyday because they have not been assigned lockers. These poor 4yr and older students complain constantly. The school sends home tons of homework and have mandatory tutoring and this school still has a C-grade.
