Located in northern Alphabet City, just two blocks from StuyTown, East Village Community School is a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school with approximately 300 enrolled students.
Students at East Village Community School are encouraged to explore their interests and world, while building their knowledge and skills, and developing their own unique voice and path in life. Promoting an integrated curriculum complete with science, math, literacy, community research, and the arts, the school cultivates critical thinking skills and an appreciation for diversity among all students. Children are given access to all forms of the arts including body movement, film, music, visual arts, computer, writing, and much more. Most importantly, students are encouraged to forge a deep love of life-long learning.
East Village Community School has partnered with Green Apple Kids to provide after school programming to students. In addition to that programming, the school also offers access to other enrichment programs including drumline, chess, cheer squad, theater, the Children’s Arts Guild, and Sixth Street Youth Programs.
