Gramercy Arts High School is a public school located in the Gramercy Park neighborhood of New York City. This school for the arts offers a four-year studio arts major and a humanities program with courses that are transferrable for college credits. Gramercy Arts High School is dedicated to being an environment free from instructional barriers where students follow a rigorous academic curriculum aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The arts program requires a portfolio of eight to 15 pieces of original work, and theater students must perform two prepared monologues and do an on-site reading or improvisation. Graduates are expected to attain a Fine Arts-endorsed Regent's Diploma, and the school’s Capstone program also allows students to graduate with 15 to 30 college credits while maintaining access to a rich array of visual and performing arts courses. After school, students work on performances and theater productions, or they may join a host of extracurricular activities including dance club, Model United Nations, chess club, yoga club, anime club or yearbook. At Gramercy Arts High School, teachers and school leaders are committed to the core values of building a strong, equitable, purposeful, scholarly and artistic community that prepares all students to succeed at a college of their choice.

I was student body president at GAHS in my senior year, and attended for 4 years. GAHS taught me how to think creatively and develop my art and academics.

I enjoyed the relationships I was able to build with some of the staff members. I'm glad they made me feel comfortable.

Very good school. I just wish they'd change that Spanish teacher. That was the worst part about my sophomore year. Having to go to her class. She's rude and doesn't know how to teach and displays very obvious favorites, either to her "Natives" or to just kids she likes for some reason. My favorite part about the school is literally every other class. I like a lot of the teachers and the activities they, the school, do/fund are pretty fun. I wish we can do more like that.
