Vanguard High School is a very small but connected school. I had just transferred here for my senior year but it has been my favorite year of high school. The students and teachers here are great and I was welcomed with open arms. Many people have helped me with the college process and I am extremely grateful.

Vanguard high school honestly was a very much rollercoaster for me, it was more of a typical nyc public school but they provided me for many resources to prepare me for my future

I spent the best 4 years of my life at this school. The teachers were amazing. The student voice at my time, were very involved to make the student body interested in all kinds of activities, whether it be spirit week, talent shows or sports. There is free SAT prep by peofessionals in the school. The faculty and the principal are very helpful to the students. The student body of this school is not the usual high school cliche, everyone is friendly, and are always there for each other. The attendance is not a big deal in this school, it should be a big deal, but is not.

I just read my past review of this school from July 2015. To be honest after everything I have heard about the school now I came to the conclusion that students and some parents are placing the blame on the teachers because they do not want to admit to themselves their child is 90% of the problem. Y...

I am currently a senior at Vanguard High School and I cannot wait to graduate from this exceptionally bad school. The teachers are incredibly lazy and behave atrociously in class. The students are some of the most disrespectful, badly behaved people I have ever encountered. This school does nothing...

The learning environment in this school is great. Every person is allowed to be who they are without being criticized or bullied. The principal (Bill), vice principal (Erica), and most of the staff's first interest is in our children's education and building on what they already know. When my daught...

One of the worst high schools in Manhattan. The security is bad, education is way behind than - everything that my daughter has learned in middle school my son is learning in his second year. It's absolutely horrible. I'm in the process of transferring my son.
