Malcolm C. Hursey Montessori School serves students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade and has a convenient location on the southwest side of the Park Circle community. With under 500 students, the public school offers intimate class sizes allowing teachers to use Montessori and traditional approaches when giving instruction.
Many classrooms include students from multiple grade levels to promote positive social interaction, peer teaching and leadership skills. Throughout the year, students are involved in numerous reading programs, holiday performances and spirit days to celebrate teachers and red-ribbon week.
Parents and community members often help with various fundraisers to support field trips and special events, allowing students to explore and learn in different settings.
