Northfield Elementary School is one of three schools in the Nordonia Hills City School District with students in kindergarten through fourth grade. It’s located off of Olde Eight Road in Northfield and serves students from the area, surrounding communities or those who qualify for open enrollment. The land upon which Northfield Elementary sits was once home to the first house in the village, known as the Palmer House. Though the original owner of the house sold the land to the school district in 1915, local historians decided to save the house, and it was moved to the plot of land next door to make way for the school. The local historical society now operates out of the Palmer House and runs a museum there. Students at Northfield can take advantage of a variety of extracurriculars and clubs in addition to academics. From math to physical education, students enjoy diverse instruction as they advance from kindergarten through fourth grade. The campus features a playground with blacktop and an adjacent ballfield. According to the Ohio Department of Education’s most recent reports, Northfield has a high attendance rate and a high overall grade of A.
