As one of four elementary schools in the Nordonia Hills City School District, Rushwood Elementary School serves over 300 students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Located in a quiet residential area south of Valley View Road, Rushwood is the only elementary school in Sagamore Hills Township and serves students from the surrounding community.
In addition to academics, students at Rushwood can take advantage of a variety of extracurriculars and clubs. The campus features a playground, a natural wildlife habitat and an onsite garden to teach students the basics of biology and growing their food.
Rushwood consistently ranks high according to the grading components set forth by the Ohio Department of Education. According to the most recently available data from the Ohio State Report Card grading system, Rushwood earned a B grade overall, with high ranks in the achievement, progress and gap closing components.
Rushwood students who stay in the Nordonia Hills City School District throughout their schooling can go on to attend Lee Eaton Elementary, Nordonia Middle School and then Nordonia High School.
