Oak Elementary School is a public school in Bartlett, Tennessee, a suburb northeast of Memphis.
The school opened in 1987 and serves students in Grades pre-K through 5. The beautiful, 15-acre campus, which was once a sod farm, is now the home of the Rams. Here, students can express their creativity through their artwork on the school grounds. Right outside of the building, you’ll find a concrete area with colorful chalk drawings.
The staff at Oak Elementary believes “our students will meet or exceed all No Child Left Behind, or NCLB benchmarks, apply problem-solving strategies to difficult situations, and develop necessary social skills to enable them to contribute to our diverse and highly technical society.”
Some of the co-curricular programs include the Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or DARE Program, Educational Leaders of Tomorrow, Memphis in May, Science Fair, Spelling Bee and the Battle of the Books. Outside of the traditional classroom, students can study outdoors at Oak Acres, a gated grassy area on-campus with benches, surrounded by lots of trees that provide plenty of shade. Oak Acres has a gazebo, a jungle gym, and lots of green space. This is a place where students can gather to learn in a unique environment at Storytime Circle.

Horrible experience. No homework sent home? What is this preparing these kids for these days? Sometimes the only visibility to a child's progress is by reviewing the homework which is non-existant at this school.
