Established in 1976, Ocean View High is a public school in the Huntington Beach Union High School District. Located at 17071 Gothard St., in Huntington Beach, the school enrolls approximately 1,470 students and serves ninth through 12th grade. Home of the Seahawks, Ocean View High is a comprehensive college preparatory academy, and the only high school in the school District offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, a two-year educational program for students ages 16-19. The school features an embedded tutorial at the end of each class period, which has magnificently resulted in the biggest drop of D and F scores for students at the school. In addition to its core studies of English, science and math, the school features a business academy and boasts the only Mandarin Chinese Foreign Language Program in the school district. Ranked in the top 1,000 high schools in the United States, Ocean View is a two-time Distinguished School Recipient and the school’s sport teams are members of the prestigious Golden West League. The school offers marching band, cross country, track and field, golf, swimming, water polo, basketball, golf and more. Ocean View’s marching band, the Seahawks Squadron, are five-time first place winners in the State Band Championships!

Overall, a great school with tons of support for students and families. Lots of opportunities as long as you work hard and take your chances.

Getting into this school was pretty easy, it was a complete different life and different rules from what I used to do , more opportunities, and activities. It was also easy to get used to, add to that the additional support provided to students as tutoring and other bunch of things, my favorite place in this school is the library, because it's super relaxing to just chill and read a book .

My son is a senior and I cannot wait for him to be done with this school. He choose this school because of the IB program.
