Waccamaw does a pretty good job at accommodating students and their needs. The only thing I would change would be that we don't have an on-campus career center, meaning students have to travel over thirty minutes and are usually late to their next class.

Class choices are good. Diverse faculty and students. Covid season was bad. Kids are mostly friendly. Enjoyed football and wrestling. Got me ready for college

My experience was amazing until the end of freshman year. Not many kids have a good freshman year but I think it was by far my best year ever. This was until Covid decided to give us a two week break and eventually we never came back. Later I went online for my sophomore year and went back my junior year. It was depressing because of Covid but my Cheerleading team and friends from all around the school helped me through it. The teachers were understanding and helped me the best they could. My senior year has been so amazing and I'm so sad to be leaving Waccamaw High school in a couple months. This school taught me so much and gave me some very reliable life lessons.

Unfortunately, the people who write reviews are often the disgruntled ones. . . . I am here to plug WHS. My daughter attended Waccamaw High for seven years as a Special Ed student. I have nothing but high regards for the school: the atmosphere is friendly, the teachers and students are caring, and t...

This school could use a good cleaning, especially the bathrooms. If a stall has a door there is a 75 percent chance there is not a lock on the door. The teachers must be taking the toilet paper and soap home because there is never any in the bathroom. Vaping is a problem IN the school. I judge resta...

This school is one of the worst schools. My daughter was attacked and bullied by two girls and no real disciplinary actions were taken. Principal Hammel said he would try to keep the girls away from my child. He took the girls out of her class he refused to bring charges on the 17 year old. Horrible...

I absolutely love this school. I am currently in the 11th grade at Waccamaw High School and find the administration and teachers to be extremely kind and willing to help. Waccamaw offers a wide variety of clubs and elective courses, as well as AP and honors level courses. Due to this variety, I have...
