Waccamaw High School overall is a good school. The staff plays a huge role in the overall experience. Some of the staff doesn't really seem as interested into the students lives as I would like to see. The students all feel like a family. The fellow classmates really play a significant role on creating the experience.

I think the school needs to change, big time. Especially the administration, at least when I was there, was really lacking.

Better than Georgetown for sure. But honestly thats a super low bar to have set. I mean, freshman year we literally had a dude get shot and died and three of the students got arrested for it. Like thats crazy, on top of all the drugs and everything that goes on there. Honestly I could go on and on, but like... I wont say its a great school, I will say that its better than the others in the district though.

This school could use a good cleaning, especially the bathrooms. If a stall has a door there is a 75 percent chance there is not a lock on the door. This school is one of the worst schools. My daughter was attacked and bullied by two girls and no real disciplinary actions were taken. Principal Hammel said he would try to keep the girls away from my child. He took the girls out of her class he refused to bring charges on the 17 year old. Horrible...
