I really appreciate my time at Petaluma because it has really helped me learn how to be self-sufficient and use the resources I have. There's a limited amount of good teachers and classes, but it also teaches me to do my own research and work hard to get what I want. I would love to see more highly trained teachers who are very interested in their students' understanding, not just memorization.

The shop programs and extra circular programs are great. There are lots of caring and supporting staff members.

The environment could be inviting and the community was fun during school/sporting events. Classes were okay, but sometimes resources were lacking. I didn't feel prepared for the college application process and I wish there was more help provided and that we started it earlier.

Daughter felt uncomfortable, as a person of color she was discriminated and made fun of.. she was not being supported throughout her high school journey

Academically it has been better than anticipated. The honors and AP classes are strong, most with excellent teachers who truly engage students and seem to love what they do. There are also some fantastic non-honors classes and teachers. But, I can also see how it could be very easy for a kid to sail...
