Opened in 2013 as a charter school just east of South Mountain, BASIS Ahwatukee serves more than 700 students in fourth through twelfth grades in the Ahwatukee area of Phoenix. The faculty here set the bar pretty high with an open culture that fosters well-rounded excellence. Following a rigorous curriculum, BASIS Ahwatukee often ranks in the top 10 of all high schools in Arizona and in the top 100 of all high schools in the United States with absolutely stellar test scores in math and reading, in addition to a 100% graduation rate. If those stats aren’t enough, 100% of students pass at least one Advanced Placement exam. Outside of the classroom, students can also thrive creatively in a wide range of extracurriculars including anime, coding, improv and drama, orchestra, and robotics, among others. Additionally, the more athletic set can find team spirit and compete in basketball, fencing, soccer, and volleyball. As an enriching experience for seniors, BASIS hosts senior projects that empower students to engage in off-campus research projects or internships where they can work with a mentor in their desired field and present their learnings like a scholar. One of the most exciting aspects of these senior projects is that they can take place anywhere in the world, placing no limits on what can be unlocked by the creativity of each student.

it was good but they need to incorporate more sports and extra curricular. As much as they thrive in academics, there should be a high standard for sports and extracurricular, because u don't get get scholarship just for being smart, you ave to be all rounded.

BASIS Ahwatukee is a great school or people who drive for academic achievement. I am currently a junior here and this here by far has been my favorite year. I have been here since sixth grade and every year teachers and school admin change. This year has been far the best with the admin people we have. Our dean Mr. dlc is by far the best dean I have had since being here. Our principal is very nice and understanding when we have a concern or problem or to advocate for a change. The administration hardly listen but this year I feel as if they do. Locker checks are a big thing this year and mr dlc is very on top of it and always in the hallway and makes himself visible throughout the school. The other dean (Mayhack) is also great but she is the lower school dean and I don't really know much about her besides she is very nice. Overall great school and teachers and I would highly recommend coming here.

It is the best school ever. The teachers are super caring, and the environment is amazing to be around. The stress can be a lot, but don't procrastinate and you will do great.

I'm currently attending another school for high school but I attended this school from 4th grade to 8th. IT WAS HORRID. I was bullied for my race, belittled for my gender, and judged by peers and administration by my grades. I could actively see treatment of certain students change based on their gr...

My two eldest daughters graduated (2019 and 2021) from BASIS - both had been there since it opened several years ago. I cannot wait until the next two are old enough to attend (soon!). The education cannot be beaten - both my daughters received full scholarships to a prestigious (non-AZ) Honors coll...

Great school with rigorous curriculum with the exception of a big playground. The Boosters organization is fantastic and teachers too.
