With hundreds of homes within walking distance, C J Jorgensen Elementary is more than a public school, but a neighborhood landmark serving more than 350 children in kindergarten through eighth grade as part of the Roosevelt School District.
As the home of the Jets, the school teaches students to soar by helping them become self-motivated, organized, ambitious, and respectful. To help on their way in the 21st century, C J Jorgensen provides all students with one-to-one technology in the classroom.
Outside of a core curriculum including math, English language arts, science, and social studies, students can further engage in learning through art, music, and physical education. There are also extracurricular opportunities to grow in student council or a number of school sports, ranging from basketball to soccer.
In addition to the usual school day, the faculty goes out of their way to fill a calendar of events where students, staff, and the community can engage and have fun—from talent shows and pizza nights to school carnivals and spirit weeks. The school also hosts field days that invite parents to enjoy barbecues and watch students compete, whether in class-to-class competitions or in lighthearted kickball games between staff and students.
Throughout the year, C J Jorgensen Elementary welcomes its South Phoenix community to join in supporting its future leaders.

My children love this school and their teachers. The Principal is always smiling and she loves all the students. Things have changed for the better since she came to the school.

Really upset my daughter is new to the school and joined the volleyball team and we had a family emergency and picked up my daughter from school and due to an emergency and she did not go to practice she cannot play in today's game.. So ready to look for a new school!!!!!

This school is a joke! Principal is never there, the assistant principal.... Forget it! The teachers have no sense of authority and just pawn off the misbehaving children to each other. These students don't listen, the parents don't care and there is nothing being done about it. The Roosevelt School...

No culture of studying and learning. Students have no respect for the elders and teachers. It's a complete waste of life and no satisfaction of job.
