Established in 1954, Saints Simon & Jude Cathedral School has followed in the footsteps of its founders, the Loreto Sisters, who brought their teachings as nuns from Ireland to North Phoenix. As a private Catholic school, Saints Simon & Jude Cathedral has been fully accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association and serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.
Here, many of the teachers have been part of the school’s faculty for more than a decade and have become like family to many of the children’s families they serve. While they strive for academic excellence and uphold Diocesan standards in all of their classrooms, they also help prepare students for the future.
In addition to a rigorous curriculum that integrates music and physical education, students can participate in various other activities. They have the option to take part in debates, science fairs, student council activities, the Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge, State Capitol visits, marine biology trips to the Channel Islands, school sports, and field days, among many others.
With more than 4,000 alumni, Saints Simon and Jude also encourages parents and caregivers to join their Mothers’ Guild and Dad’s Club to better serve their students, the church, and the community. The school also offers a before and after school care program, provides bus transit within a specific service area, and has a full-time registered nurse on staff. Financial aid and scholarships are also available.

SS Simon and Jude School has been an amazing experience for our family. My 3 children have attended the school since 2014. We have loved it since the beginning. The teachers, staff and administration is amazing and so dedicated to the children. My daughter is now in High School and was so well prepared academically, spiritually and as a whole child. I know my other two will be ready to go as they graduate from SSJ. I am forever grateful for the foundation that they have from their time at SSJ.

We have been part of the SSJ community for 7 years. The educational curriculum is strong, the teachers are outstanding and clearly care about educational outcomes, and the campus is beautiful. Each of our children have had a wonderful experience and I whole-heartedly recommend SSJ for an excellent Catholic education.
