If you choose to be in honors and AP classes, SHS is a great academic school. AP tests are paid for by the school, and in most subjects you will feel prepared for the exam. However, all the best teachers are devoted to honors and AP classes, leaving regular level students to struggle more with teachers who don't care as much. Most sports are well funded, but there is some discrimination between men and womens sports. Very limited parking.

Sunnyslope is a really fun school with a really welcoming environment. The best parts are the traditions and the tight knit community. So many teachers have been students here or have had family here and it really adds to the atmosphere and community.

Sunnyslope really needs to get their act together. I have not been impressed by this school at all. There is a major issue in the bathrooms (nicotine, drugs, alcohol) of this high school that they are aware of but have yet done anything about. There are very few teachers here that actually care abou...

This school is academically better than most public high schools in AZ. It has good sports and performing arts programs. The front office staff need to take some courses on politeness and tolerance. Often they are very rude to students and parents. The worst thing about this school is the variance e...

Teachers are the reason people line up to get in to this school from out of district. They are fabulous, highly educated and committed to their students. They are also overworked by the number of students admitted from out of district every year. There are more students than desks which results in k...
