It is a pretty average high school. It is not great, but the learning environment is good. There are some things that could be improved, such as the bathrooms. There are about 1,000 students and only 2 restrooms with 2 stalls each.

Cortez High School was the best. Although it gets a bad rep, it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. I made some life long friends there, and the teacher do care about their students like no other. It is easier to get that one on one help with your peers and teachers.

My experience at Cortes HS has been the best. Since it is a small school I can interact with all or most of the students also maintain a relationship with my teachers and other staff. Teachers work really hard to show us support and I think we can feel the support they give to as not only in school hours but also before and after school they spend time to make sure we learn.

Staff need to treat students like young adults and not be so sensitive when a student asks why. Need to know the difference between disrespect and valid questions being asked. These students are still human beings at the end of the day and deserve the same respect they are expected to give.

Legit the worst staff, coaches, "administration" at a well recognized school, from cutting performing arts programs, to staff talking down on other programs, to the principal belittling staff in "wellness checks" or even belittling other administration to staff members. Favoritism is all around and...
