GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

During my time in Plattsburgh senior high school, I was treated nicely by my teachers and my peers. There were still some teachers that are not nice and same with students but that doesn't really disappear. The teachers that I had were really caring and they are extremely good at getting their points across. They were also very understanding about certain things. My overall experience so far was good.

I enjoy the quality of teachers, the various academic clubs and offerings, and the safety, relatively speaking. More focus, in my opinion, should be allocated to building upgrades and towards academics. Also, sanitation in the building could be drastically improved.

For a rural high school of around 500 students, the opportunities Plattsburgh high school provides is unrivaled. Most if not all of the teachers I've had are of pristine quality. The classes, extracurricular activities, and other resources they provide are incredible.

I went here until my junior year. One of the guidance counselors spends a large part of her day socializing with other staff rather than helping students. The school nurse is rarely available, there are days she's gone for 4 periods and even when she's their not much of her attention is put towards...

Graduated early, my junior year, and glad I did. What can I say, it's your typical public school, some teachers weaker than others, some more like-able, you just have to luck out. The budget has been getting weaker and weaker year by year, which entails more and more cuts. Like I said, glad I finish...

When it comes down to it, this is an alright school. The thing that keeps it on the map though, are the teachers. An amazing staff of educators who truly care about the kids. Right down to the monitors and the custodial staff.

What can you say about this school district- it cost $36 million/ year and pays way more attention to the union wants than the kids.. look at the results. What a huge waste of money.
