GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The teachers at Port Byron are some of the greatest i've ever worked with. They are helpful and passionate about their jobs. The Drama Club has been the highlight of the school, we put on amazing shows and are like a family. I do wish the school would put more funding into the arts, like they do with all sports.

While this school has a good atmosphere about it, it is more concerned with athletic performance rather than academic achievement. In the year 2018, or 2019 there are plans to update the schools athletic facilities instead of updating the falling academic standards at the school.

I'm not sure why this website says the school only has two sports and only teaches ap, there are at least 10 sports in can think of off the top of my head, and the school teaches not only ap but also college courses all for free.

All three of my children attend/attended this school. I agree with the previous reviewer about politics playing a huge roll in decision making. There is a sense of " elitism" throughout the administration. Rules don't apply for the select few. Teachers hands are tied. I would strongly suggest sendin...

Too many politics play part in this school to the point where it inhibits students from learning. The camaraderie and overall school spirit was at an all time low when I attended (2007 grad). The sports programs are ill funded and there is little pride or enthusiasm from a majority of the athletes a...
