Parkview Elementary School, located on North Sixth Place in the heart of Port Hueneme, serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The school has two distinctions that set it apart from other local schools. Parkview has been honored as a Silver Level California Green Ribbon School. Students learn about plants and how to care for the environment in the school’s outdoor classroom and native habitat garden.
Parkview is also one of two schools in the Hueneme Elementary School District to offer the district’s dual-language immersion program. Instruction time is split equally between English and Spanish, following a closely aligned curriculum program with instruction in essential subject areas such as language, arts and math. As with all students in the Hueneme Elementary School District, Parkview students are provided with technology tools to bring home for assignment work. The school also offers after-school enrichment programs. Recent courses have included cooking, as well as drama and theater.

We adore this school. Ms. Jimenez, the principal is an amazing leader and so attuned to all students. The class sizes are amazing. Every teacher we have had has been passionate and skilled.

Compare to other schools around the area, this is the best around 95136. Principal strict, but I think that is good, as we all know some of us have difficult kids. CA STOP budget cuts it hurts our kids education.
