I went to high school there, 9-12. I can say in hindsight 25+ years later that it was a great experience. The school nurtures the individual in a way that public schools often can't. Like all schools it had its challenges, but at the core of the school are caring, intelligent and creative faculty. I'm sure I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for my time at PDS.

Poughkeepsie Day to me is the best place for children who feel they don't fit in any where. One complaint I have is the food at school is awful and expensive.

PDS helped shape me into who I am. The close knit relationships with teachers allowed me the comfort and capability to grow as both a student and an independant thinker. When I had questions I knew there was a resource there for me to pull on. The courses were fun and interesting and as I moved through high school I began getting more freedom in what kind of classes I could take, even engineering my own to an extent. PDS isn't a perfect school but it was wonderful for me.
